Holds a Ph.D. in political science from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Grenoble. Full Professor at Sciences Po since 2005. Founder and director, Observatoire des Elections Latino-Américaines (since 2006); president,Observatoire Politique de l’Amerique Latine et des Caraïbes. Director of the Europe-Latin-America Sciences Po undergraduate program in Poitiers; head of Sciences Po department of political science since 2010. Member of the editorial boards of Lusotopie, Oasis (Colombia), Revue espagnole de recherches sociologiques and Revue internationale de politique comparée.
His research focuses on the processes of regional integration in the Americas and the state of democracy in Latin America.
