Different theoretical and methodological frameworks have been developed over the course of the program. They are based on materials from the field, and experiences conducted in different parts of the world, and have been developed in an iterative process of theory-action thinking between the different participants. They intend to analyze dimensions of post-massacre rebuilding which have been understudied thus far, and to offer innovative, trans-disciplinary approaches of these issues.

Art & Conflict Transformation
The humanities constitute a decisive complement to more traditional techniques of investigation; in some cases, the use of methods referring to different forms of cultural and artistic expression is the only way to access certain dimensions of conflict transformation. Community healing in itself is also a matter of mobilizing cultural resources aimed at restoring collective memory, encouraging personal narratives and accounts, re-integrating child soldiers into their community, or re-establishing links to the dead whose bodies were not treated with the dignity and the rituals worthy of a human being. This cluster presents theoretical and methodological texts on the subject as well as concrete examples as to how to use these techniques.
Since 2006, a new research has been developed on the role of arts in conflict transformation programs. A database presents a large diversity of experiences in a large diversity of countries. A presentation of field research is also accessible online.
